Here’s a new gig poster! (MurderByDeath)

Back in 2012, I was fortunate enough to somehow fish a job from one of my favorite bands. Murder By Death. I think I saw them at the Ogden Theater in Denver a few years before and I was in love. A few years after that, they asked me to write a forward for their book “FRAMED – The poster art of Murder By Death”. I was working for great bands (like MBD) and making messes and things were good.

After that, things got quiet for me.. I got in to the commercial print game – working for other artists and companies, and that turned out to be a terrible decision.. one, because it turned out I wasn’t very good at it.. comparatively. Two, and I think more importantly, because I hated it.. I took me completely away from my own art works for YEARS and things just kind of fizzled out. It took me a terrible two+ years to get out from under that cloud, but i finally did it and upon my quest to return to my own art, gigposters and nonsense – I reached out to the band once again and was pleasantly surprised with a new job for an amazing concert at the Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, Tennessee. This venue hosts a massive natural cave turned music venue that sits 333 feet below the surface of the earth. Below is an assortment of photos from the print making and one from the show.

Sleepy Hollow – Tarrytown, New York

“A pleasing land of drowsy head it was, of dreams that wave before the half-shut eye.” -Washington Irving

I was asked to create a commemorative piece of art for the city of Tarrytown, NY – otherwise known as Sleepy Hollow. Lots of cool history there from the cemetery to the Sleepy Hollow bridge, most of the iconic story we know and love is based on real people and landmarks. The Horseman is even present on street signs and police cars – so i was more than enthused to cook up this little ditty for the quaint and creepy burg of Sleepy Hollow, New York. Enjoy some process shots of the screen print making. Also – did i mention that these prints are GLOW IN THE DARK!?

Whiskeys of the West

I was commissioned by the El Pueblo History museum in my hometown of Pueblo, Colorado to create this poster for “Whiskeys of the West”. The museums 5th annual whiskey tasting event. When it comes to whiskey, you don’t have to ask me twice. Enjoy a shot of the print work while I enjoy a shot of this bourbon..

The Great Beyond (art print)

I believe in infinity.

The outward and inward expanse.

A vastness that is incomprehensible.

Who are we in the face of that god and how could our ego ever hold up under the gaze of that which lies beyond us?

We must proceed in to that chasm. An attempt to understand how the ripples of our minuscule existence may effect the tides in those far reaches of the universe that we will never know.

Still.. it is simply an attempt at a glimpse of  The Great Beyond.
